SECTION - A

Reading Comprehension   (20 marks)

• A literary or discursive unseen passage of about 900-950 words will be given with some very short and short answer questions in the final exam.
• An unseen poem of about 20-24 lines with some short answer questions will be given in the final exam to test interpretation and appreciation.

SECTION - B

Creative Writing Skills (20 marks)

• An essay on an argumentative/discursive/reflective/or descriptive topic to be written in the final exam.
• A composition such as an article, a report, a speech to be written in the final exam.

SECTION - C

Literature Textbooks

• "Woven Words", a book on poetry and prose published by NCERT.   (20 marks)
• "Arms and the Man", a drama by Bernard Shaw   (10 marks)
• "The Old Man and the Sea", a fiction by E. Hemingway   (10 marks)

Seminar  (20 marks)

• Presentation of a book review, a play, a short story, a novel, novella (tale, fable, parable) to be followed by a question answer session.

• Poetry reading to be followed by interpretative tasks based on close reading and literary analysis of the text.

• Critical review of a film or a play.

• Conducting a theatre workshop to be followed by a discussion.
